Qui Tam / False Claims

The False Claims Act is often referred to as Qui Tam or whistleblower cases. Qui Tam provides a way in which money wrongfully taken or stolen can be recovered by the government. Often companies that commit this fraud are government contractors, pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, defense contractors, or physician groups. When someone reports this type of fraud they are entitled to a portion of the amount recovered which can range from 15-25% of the total. This can be a substantial amount of money and is designed to empower individuals to step forward and do the right thing.
